Why Boxing and Strength Training Belong Together

The short answerBoxing trains your conditioning, coordination and footwork. Strength training trains the muscles that put power behind every punch. Doing both gives you a stronger, more complete body than either one alone.

What boxing gives you

A boxing class is full-body conditioning: rounds of punching, moving and recovering that train your heart, lungs and coordination at the same time. You learn to move your feet, rotate through your hips and stay sharp when you're tired.

What strength training adds

Strength training builds the muscle and bone that boxing relies on. Stronger legs and a stronger core mean more power and better balance on the bag, and a body that handles hard training without breaking down.

How West 85th puts them together

RMBL Box + Lift is half boxing, half real strength training, for people who want to get strong, not just sweaty. Circuits is small group personal training with a plan built around you. Both are only at West 85th.
